Our Community Purpose
WilderGo is being built to help people exploring outside connect with trusted community, support one another, and access help when it matters.
These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone using WilderGo. Our goal is to create a safer, more respectful, and more useful outdoor community for hikers, campers, road trippers, RVers, nomads, families, solo explorers, weekend adventurers, and everyday people exploring outside.
Community Comes First
Treat others with respect. WilderGo is built around the belief that people are safer and stronger when they can look out for one another.
Do not harass, threaten, bully, shame, intimidate, or target others.
Do not use hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanizing language.
Do not attack people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
Do not encourage others to mistreat, exclude, or endanger someone.
Be Honest and Trustworthy
Trust is central to WilderGo.
Do not impersonate another person or organization.
Do not create fake accounts, fake profiles, fake emergency requests, or misleading safety information.
Do not misrepresent your identity, location, availability, skills, qualifications, or ability to help.
Do not abuse verification features, Guardian tools, community signals, or profile information.
Use Safety Features Responsibly
WilderGo may include safety-focused tools such as Connected SOS, Guardian support, check-ins, alerts, and community-powered assistance.
Use these tools responsibly.
Do not submit false, prank, misleading, or abusive SOS requests.
Do not use safety features to harass, track, pressure, or manipulate others.
Do not interfere with someone else’s emergency or support request.
Do not claim to provide professional emergency, medical, rescue, or law enforcement services unless you are legally authorized to do so.
WilderGo is not a replacement for 911, emergency services, search and rescue, medical care, law enforcement, or official emergency response. In an emergency, contact local emergency services whenever possible.
Help Should Feel Reachable, Not Risky
If you choose to help someone through WilderGo, use good judgment. Do not put yourself or others in danger.
Only offer support you can reasonably and safely provide.
Respect boundaries and consent.
Do not pressure anyone to meet, share their location, accept help, or provide personal information.
If a situation appears dangerous, contact appropriate emergency services whenever possible.
Respect Privacy
Do not share someone else’s private information without permission.
This includes:
Home address
Phone number
Email address
Precise location
Private messages
Photos or videos shared privately
Vehicle information
Identity documents
Emergency details
Medical information
Do not dox, stalk, track, or monitor another person. Do not use WilderGo to invade someone’s privacy.
Keep Content Safe and Appropriate
Do not post, upload, message, or share content that is:
Illegal
Sexually explicit or exploitative
Violent, graphic, or threatening
Hateful or discriminatory
Harassing or abusive
Misleading, fraudulent, or impersonating others
Encouraging self-harm or harm to others
Promoting dangerous activity without proper context
Spam, scams, or unrelated advertising
Invasive of someone’s privacy
Designed to exploit, manipulate, or endanger others
WilderGo may remove content that violates these guidelines or creates risk for the community.
Outdoor Responsibility
WilderGo is designed to support safer outdoor connection, but users are responsible for their own decisions.
Respect public lands, private property, local rules, trail closures, fire restrictions, weather conditions, road conditions, and wildlife.
Do not encourage trespassing, unsafe travel, illegal camping, vandalism, poaching, reckless driving, or damage to natural spaces.
Do not share false or unsafe outdoor information.
Always use judgment, preparation, and official sources when planning outdoor activity.
Events, Meetups, and Community Interaction
If WilderGo includes events, groups, meetups, or member discovery, use caution and respect.
Meet in public or appropriate outdoor places when possible.
Tell someone where you are going.
Respect people’s boundaries.
Do not pressure anyone to meet in person.
Do not use events or groups for harassment, dating pressure, scams, unrelated selling, or unsafe behavior.
Reporting and Blocking
If you see content, behavior, or a user that violates these guidelines, report it through the available WilderGo reporting tools.
WilderGo may provide ways to:

Block users
Restrict interactions
Remove or hide unsafe content
Review safety concerns
We review reports and take action when appropriate. Actions may include warnings, content removal, account restrictions, suspension, permanent removal, or referral to appropriate authorities when required by law or safety concerns.
Moderation and Enforcement
WilderGo may moderate content, accounts, messages, profiles, groups, events, and safety-related activity to protect the community.
We may act when we believe someone has violated these guidelines, our Terms, our Privacy Policy, or applicable law.
We may also act to prevent harm, abuse, fraud, spam, misuse of safety features, or behavior that undermines trust in the community.
No Spam, Scams, or Exploitation
Do not use WilderGo to spam, scam, manipulate, or exploit others.
Do not post unrelated promotions, fake offers, phishing links, fraudulent requests, misleading fundraisers, or repeated unwanted messages.
Do not use WilderGo to sell unrelated products or services unless clearly allowed by WilderGo.
Accounts and Access
WilderGo may restrict or remove accounts that violate these guidelines.
This may include:
Fake accounts
Repeated abuse
Safety feature misuse
Harassment
Spam
Privacy violations
False emergency requests
Dangerous or illegal activity
Attempts to evade moderation
