2. Data We Collect
Identity Data: Name or username for account creation.
Contact Data: Email address for account management and support.
Location Data: WilderGo requires "Always On" access to your device's precise location to provide trail tracking, mapping, and emergency features.
Usage Data: Anonymous data on app usage (crash logs, feature engagement) via third-party tools like RevenueCat.
3. How We Use Your Data
To provide tracking, mapping, and Emergency SOS services.
To manage subscriptions and account status.
To improve app functionality and safety protocols.
4. Emergency SOS & Satellite Infrastructure (Phase 1 & 2)
Satellite SOS Offline: When triggered, your precise location (latitude, longitude, altitude) is shared via Apple’s Satellite infrastructure and iMessage Relay. This data is compressed and transmitted to facilitate rescue.
Data Sharing: In the event of an SOS, data is relayed to authorized WilderGo users, Emergency Relay Centers, or Search and Rescue (SAR) organizations.
End-to-End Encryption: iMessage transmissions are protected by Apple’s native end-to-end encryption. WilderGo does not have access to the content of messages sent to emergency services.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
RevenueCat: For subscription management.
Google/Apple: For payment processing.
Emergency Dispatchers: Solely during an active SOS event.
6. Data Retention & Deletion We retain data only as long as necessary.
Location Buffering: We do not store trekking history beyond a rolling 24-hour buffer for rescue purposes.
Account Deletion: You may request deletion via privacy@wildergoapp.com or the "Delete Account" button in settings. All associated data will be purged within 30 days.
